Album
Power Windows is the eleventh studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released on October 14, 1985 by Anthem Records. After touring in support of their previous album, Grace Under Pressure 1984, the band took a break and reconvened in early 1985 to work on a follow-up. The material continued to display the band's exploration of synthesizer-oriented music, this time with the addition of sampling, electronic drums, a string section, and choir, with power being a running lyrical theme. Power Windows. Power Windows is the bands 11th studio album, released in 1985. It was the first time the band worked with producer Peter Collins. The album was recorded at The Manor in England, AIR Studios in Montserrat and at Sarm East Studios in London. Power Windows launched an era in which the band expanded into new sonic directions, and featured synths heavily. It was also the album where Geddy switched to using a Wal bass, made by a small English company. Hed use the Wal as his main bass all the way through the Roll The Bones album and tour. Rush - Power Windows 1985. Power Windows , released on Oct. 1985, is the Canadian trio's most underrated album the point where Rush melded their prog-rock and New Wave personalities. The prior year's Grace Under Pressure defied the sentiment of its title. Glossy and confused in all the wrong ways, the LP found the band limping deeper into the decade, sounding unsure of themselves. Rush Power Windows Full Album 1985. Sala De Rock. Power Windows was the 11th studio album after Grace Under Windows was the first Rush album to be produced by Peter Collins and the album was recorded at The Manor in Studios in Montserrant and at Sarm East Studios in Windows introduced more keyboard or synthesizers into Rush's sound. The Big Money and Mystic Rythms were both made into music videos featured on MTV's rotation at the time. Power Windows lyrics focused on the manfestations of example. POWER WINDOWS. Power Windows is a pretty bizarre album because, while many of its lyrical themes are personal and social, and the guitar work has a tone that cuts through the production to reach the listener on a more personal level, the synthesizers end up pulling you away at the same time. Unfortunately, just like with Grace Under Pressure, many Rush fans will likely be turned off by this incarnation of the group. Even for these ears, the synthesizer experimentation gets pretty old after a while. Once at the 6th or 7th song, one might just wish for a break from the ridiculously frequent keyboard use and instead go for some more guitar-oriented Rush music
