Probot was a heavy metal side project of ex-Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters rhythm guitarist and lead-singer Dave Grohl. Described by Grohl as a death metal Supernatural, the album mixes instrumentals recorded by Grohl himself with various metal singers whom the musician admired. The album was released in February 2004 by Southern Lord Records. It featured one single entitled Centuries of SinThe Emerald Law. there's another upload of this album but it's encoded like shit 1. Dave Grohl, lead man of the Foo Fighters and drummer for Nirvana, got his start in metal, with a small band called Scream. This album was born of his love for metal, and having written material too heavy for the Foo Fighters to play. He decided to create a metal album with some of his favorite metal artists. He wrote each song for Probot with a particular vocalist in mind and recorded the accompanying tracks in the style of the vocalists band. With a few exceptions such as Lemmy playing bass on Shake Your Blood, Dave played all the instruments. Probot Q&A. The best idea Probot put forth on their self-titled debut though I doubt we'll ever see another record by the band is the track sequencing the four best songs are the first four. Centuries of Sin begins as Benedictine cathedral drone before exploding into D-tuned riff mayhem and Cronos' ragged description of a survivor, warrior prince, psychopath making difference. The most disappointing aspect of Probot is that many of the songs sound more like Foo Fighters turned to eleven than actual metal. The Emerald Law with Wino not only could have been Foo product, but a hard-edged Nirvana B-side. It's not a bad song, per se, just a tad less intense than what preceded it.
