Has anyone else noticed how Accidents Will Happen is slower on this CD release than on the Armed Forces 7", a good 15 seconds in total. The pitch sounds quite different. Allison & Watching The Detectives are unchanged (at least as far as speed goes).
There is a distinct difference. The version on this record is also a cappella.Armed Forces had not yet been released at the time of this concert and would not be released until 1979.A couple of other things that may be of interest. The "Accidents Will Happen" that appears on this disc was actually his second crack at the song. It was his opening number and he stopped and was upset after about two lines into the song.Walked away from the mic and came back about a minute and a half later. Then we got the version that you hear on the recording. The rest of the show was flawless. It was a triple bill.Mink DeVille opened. Then Rockpile played a set. Then Elvis.I was lucky enough to be there.
